The Cumberland County Playhouse, one of the 10 largest professional theaters in rural America, attracts actors and visitors alike from across the United States for roles on its two stages. The handmade props and costumes are rented to Broadway touring companies, college programs and other users. The historic Palace Theatre, built in 1938, is a large auditorium that hosts concerts, meetings and plays.

Called the Golf Capital of Tennessee, Cumberland County boasts 10 championship golf courses, a large vacation and retirement resort with 90 holes of golf, and a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course at Cumberland Mountain State Park. Natural Beauty
With an average elevation of 2,000 feet, Cumberland County has some of the best views in the state. It is located in the heart of the Cumberland Trail and has mild temperatures year-round. The 100-foot Ozone Falls is a beautiful stop, located right off Interstate 40. Other popular waterways include Meadow Lake, Daddy’s Creek, Clear Creek and the Obed River. The Cumberland Plateau provides visitors and residents with peaceful settings and breathtaking views of the surrounding East Tennessee area.
